RN & RM Northamptonshire
The Northamptonshire Royal Navy & Royal Marines Association have their Headquarters and Club at the corner of Lorne Road and Poole Street, Northampton.
It is believed that the Association is unique in that it is the only one for all branches of the Senior Service, RN, RM, WRENS & RFA etc.
The Association was first formed in July 1936 and met in various pubs and clubs before getting its first home in Poole Street, the current HQ. The building was formally a Baptist mission hall. It was purchased in 1979 and, following a lot of hard work by the membership in their spare time, the premises were formally opened in 1982.
The main aim is to re-unite all loyal British subjects of the Queen who are Ex-Service personnel of the RN, RM, RNAS, RNR, RNVR, RNSS, RFA, RND, QARNNS, WRNS, who are of good character and reside or have resided in the county of Northamptonshire, for the purpose of upholding the traditions of the Senior Service of comradeship, and of rendering through the Association such mutual assistance as circumstances may warrant.
